New Header

Despite the compelling competition, no-one seems to have sent me any entries for the new Commitment Man header.

I suppose it isn’t really surprising. I haven’t put up any new content.

Just in case you happen to be following my RSS feed, you might be interested to note that I’ve put up a new header. Click through and have a look. It’s still rubbish, but it’s better than what was up there before.

Now all I need to do is write more C-Man content.

Perhaps I should just redirect commitmentman.com to unmotivated.com

Header wanted: Dead or Alive

Head–er. Source by Jasmine Cormier http://flickr.com/photos/jasmincormier/2071895660/But preferably alive, or at least lively.

I’ve settled on the theme to use for this ignoble venture I’m embarking on. I’ve taken care to ensure that it supports next and previous links on posts in order to make it easier to browse through the gripping tale I am about¹ to unleash on the internet.

The theme also has page navigation along the top, which works better for me than a column of links to pages down the side of the site.

Inconveniently the theme supports a custom header. The default picture for the theme isn’t really appropriate for Commitment Man, so I’ve replaced it with something even less fitting. But hey, the story is still in construction so, the header might as well be too.

This is where you, the reader come in. Hopefully the graphic-design-talented reader. Make me a header and email it to the address in the current, malformed outrage up on the front page. The scope of the project is broad, and I’ll consider anything (mostly because I’m not expecting any entries). Think along the lines of man escaping from the corporate rat-race labyrinth that is a cube farm, and throw in a rodent of some sort for good measure.

The header I like the most becomes The Header, unless the entries are all on par with what I’ve already put up there. In that case I’ll need to make another plan. You need to be willing to release your art with a creative commons, attribution-non-commercial or less restrictive license.

¹ “About” is something that is nearly going to happen, but how near are we talking? Certainly not ångström-scale² proximity, so don’t get too excited just yet.

² Yes yes. Mixing and mashing temporal and spacial measurements in my metaphor. Leave me alone, I brought my poetic licence along.
